Setting Plug-ins folder in mac Problem, please help....!

I installed Absynth 3 & Korg Legacy, and I set the path ibrary/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST in mac, buy it said

''You have selected afolder inside of a folder tat Live automatically scans for you. your selection will not appear as a custom folder. Scanninf of this folder is turned on and off using the Use VST Plug-ins in System Folders option n the Plug-in Preferences.''

I tried move the folder around, and rename the folder, no luck....

I just switch to mac and my current Live version is 5.2b8, before, I use PC, everything was perfect.

Could someone help me please, and sorry about my English, I from Taiwan, thanks

Live scans the plug-in folders that exist in your Library/Audio/Plug-Ins folder. You do not need to point to this as a custom folder for VSTs. Absynth certainly has an AU component and I suspect the Korg instruments do as well and I havbe found Audio Units to be a little more stable than their VST equivalents.

Here is what I would do:

Reinstall Both Absynth and the Korg Legacy. In Live preferences switch off VST and enable Audio Units. Are they there? I thought so. Go make music.

If you actually need VST plugs here is what I recommend. In your local Documents folder create a new folder called "VST local" and "VST local removed." Go to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST and select the plugs you want to use (command click each) and with them highlighted option-drag them to the "VST local" folder to duplicate them.

In Live preferences switch OFF "use VST plug-in system folder", switch ON "use VST plug-in custom folder" and navigate to "VST local." If any VSTs crash or you just hate them but are too timid to actually delete them simply remove them from the "VST local" folder and put them in "VST local removed" then re-scan your plug-ins. This is also a good way to troubleshoot which plug might be the one crashing Live.

You metioned about AU component, yes they are there, but there are just Apple Audio Units, non of others, I really have no ideas, before, I used to use PC, and no such thing happened, I'm actually working on a track, and I gave my PC to my friend, I can't image, how I gonna live using live without VST, I wanna make music. ......

Lef. I noticed on another post you have an intel Mac. I don't know for sure but perhaps non Universal (intel ready) plug-ins will not work or even appear in Live. I know for sure Absynth is not intel ready, I suspect the Korg VIs are also PPC only. Perhaps this is your problem here. I would send a note to Ableton support to be sure if I were you.

Yes, you are right, I went check the NI and Korg, and the thing is sure that they are non Universal (Intel ready),I apology for that, I should have checked first, because I'm a new mac user, not mention ''Intelmac'' .
