I think there is more pontential in these MacBooks, because xbench doesn't always use the full CPU perfomance (mostly just a part of it, watch top).
Therfore the results could be better if a process would need more cpu performance.
Any ideas which utility would be more appropriate?

A little slower than my 2.3Ghz Dual Core PowerMac. But for this kind of portability, I'll take it.

you are overoptimistic, you wont get that sort of figure until 6 comes out with dual core support

I know this question doesn't fit to this topic, but I was woundering if you have the whine during using XP on MBP, too?

Thanks!

not until version 6...

but these are the same results I got for a Core Duo mac mini running in OSX and in Windows XP... so it seems that that since the hardware (CPU) is at parity now between Macs and PCs (unless you're running AMD), the performance is the same.

Just tried the Live Performance test on the MacBook Pro with OS X running Live 5.2 on a Windows XP virtual machine via Parallels Workstation 2.1 Beta3. Pretty good results considering I have two OS's running at the same time.

2) Apple MacBook Pro
3) Windows XP Pro Virtual Machine under OS X 10.4.6
4) 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo

6) Internal Audio
7) 7200 rpm
