u using Live 5.03 etc? I just went through nightmare with my new macpro and turned out I had to dowload the 5.2 beta version. All sweet after that. Universal Binary vs. Rosetta... if that means anything to u...
Good luck,

i am using version 4 still, i have read about more cpu problems with 5 so i didnt upgrade. i will wait for version 6 probably. any other idea other than the version that could be causing me this problem.

thanks

yeah. Live 4 will not work on your system. Simple as that...
You can try out the Live 5 beta though. So you can see for yourself if it would be worth it to upgrade.

Live 4 only runs under rosetta on a intel mac. So you will never be able to use that full power.

Btw. Live 5 will run faster on your new mac then Live 4 on any mac.

Cpu issues are relative. some people have them. some dont

Thanks for your help. After reading all the info 5.2 that sems like it will solve the problem. What is causing it to bog down like that? Anyway I will be upgrading ASAP to 5.

Post by paulreiners » Sun Apr 02, 2006 12:47 am

So where can you download the 5.2 beta version from? I couldn't find it anywhere on the Ableton web site.
