MIDI? - What MIDI....
MIDI? - What MIDI....
I'm having problems with Live 5 not locating my midi controller.
The controller (an Evolution MK449c) isnt listed in the Preferences. I had same problem with Live 4, but managed to get round it by clicking in the Output section of Preferences, and it would suddenly locate the controller.
No such luck with 5 though.
Any ideas ?

If you are on a Mac it is Core MIDI and the driver you should be looking at, not Live - reinstall the driver and test everything in AMS.infra rob wrote:I'm having problems with Live 5 not locating my midi controller.

Does windows recognize your keyboard when you plug it ? And did you download and install the latest drivers for it ?
Also, what version of windows do you use ?

i know nothing about the midi controller you are using but this is just a thought
im using a E-mu MIDI and when i was installing the driver i had to connect the controller to the USB port which i would use it for all of the time - if i put my E-MU into another USB port it is nt recognized
just a thought
cheers

make sure your not having a power issue. i'm pretty sure that was my problem when i couldn't find my controller in any device menus.
i'm no computer/midi genious, but i believe my PSU was only sending enough power through USB to turn the controller on and light up the LCD, but was too weak to pull back any signal that could be detected by my apps. i'm still powering through USB but have my controller connected to my soundcard via midi cable. if you have a midi input on your interface that shows up in your device menus, try that.
