MACHINEDRUM SAMPLES

Following the Machine drum topic, i have sampled my machine drum for the guys that dont own one..I sampled the kits staright in full gain at 48khz, so each kit is one long wav, so you'll need to chop them into single hits..also the file was packed with winace, winace or winrar is needed to open it, for you mac guys im sure there will be a prog to open them.the link is bellow..enjoy

Hey guys!

Sorry to be a party poop, but to sample the machine drum is like getting a lego kit with all the pieces glued together. Sure you get a feeling for the sound but with no chance of actually getting into the process of creation. The main thing about the MD is it's sequencer and the parameter locks. The sounds are just sounds - especially the factory presets.

It's like a few years back when that company released a VST rompler of the Clavia Modular. What the hell? A sampled modular synth? That defies it's entire purpose.

Theres no pleasing some folk eh, i thought i was doing some good, and helping others that would love to own a MD but cant afford one..Oh well...

Sorry Frisbeedisk,

Not coming down on you in any way - at least that wasn't my intention. I'm just saying that the joy of the MD doesn't really lie in the sounds - but rather in the evolvement of sounds made possible by the sequencer and the parameter locks. And they just don't come across when sampling it.

I'm glad that you can please some of the community here with your samplepack.

It's cool that you sampled the sounds for people (M-Audio has a Machinedrum sample CD too BTW), but what makes the MD so cool is how you can tweak the sounds over time. It's just hard to capture that via sampling.

Just a heads up for people thinking that owning the samples is anywhere close to owning a MD. I had the M-Audio sample CD, and after getting the real thing, realized how useless the samples were in comparison.

Yeah i totally agree that the fun is in using the MD. Maybe the samples will inspire some people to save up and purchase one(it may take a few months, but its well worth the wait).
