Please help!

Post by aT » Fri Apr 07, 2006 4:24 pm

Hi guys, just bought a Behringer BCR 2000 and im having trouble getting it to work with Live 5.
Ive got a MIDI keyboard with encoders on it and if i use the Midi Assign function in Ableton and turn one of these encoders it assigns itself to that function. This does not happen with the BCR though and i cant figure out why.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance :D

Have you enabled the BCR as a remote control device on Live's midi device settings page? Mine works fine...

the MIDI in/out indicators in the upper left corner of the screen are vital to diagnosing this stuff, is there any activity?

Michael-SW said, check the options-> preferences, MIDI tab. In the very bottom box you should set the BCR (or audio device) to Mackie control mode and set it as midi input and output.

This is all in the BCR manual and in the current BCR thread in the General page, give it a read. Even though the thread is about Mackie emulation mode, there's talk of how to make sure it's set up right in normal mode.

You don't HAVE to set it in Mackie Control mode - and it probably will be confusing if you are just starting out with your BCR.

Just try to get the ordinary midi learn working first.
