Help with Audio
I'm sorry if there is an easy place to find the solution to this, but so far hadn't come across it. I just bought the M-Audio and installed it on my computer. I went through setting up the audio and everything that the steps told me to do...played a cd through it and heard the cd...but when i record my guitar and play it back..i do not hear it at all. I was wondering what is wrong and what i could do to solve this problem? Knowing me, it is something very easy to fix, but figured this was the quickest and most effective way to do it. Thanks for any help!
sorry to sound harsh but it's unlikely that anyone will help you until you provide more specifics. "the M-audio" --- ?? I bet they make hundreds of different products. I know it is difficult to provide details if you are not familiar with audio software or recording, but please try to tell as much as possible

Sorry, didn't realize until you mentioned it that i left it pretty basic. I'll try and add as much as i can. I bought the Fast Track guitar/mic recording interface. The software it came with is Live Lite 4. I went through and did all the setup to make sure the sound was set up. At one point they suggest putting in a cd so you have music going while you set up. I did this and did in fact hear the music playing. I continued setting everything up, and then recorded my guitar real quick to see how it was...and haven't been able to hear anything i've recorded....sorry if this still isnt helping much. I'm sure it's probably something simple and i'm just missing it because i'm not used to everything.

Thanks for trying to help me through this, i appreciate it. I messed around some more today. I definitely can not get an audio at any point from my guitar. I plug it straight into the back of the device, but no sound goes through to the software. I've messed with levels to see if that was a problem, but nothing changes.
