how can i do this without it stopping!!!!

basically i just wast to record while i move the mouse over the tracks. kinda like a diy randomizer. i set up to record into a new track and selected the resample option. it starts to record and then stops right away. the clip shows in the track i recorded into but how can i do this so it doesn't stop right away. please any suggestions

Make sure Global looping is off... Transport bar on the very top of your screen..
