Konnekt 24D
Looks like TC electronics has caught the NI bug....everything with a K.
This looks like a fairly interesting audiointerface with (most likely) quality DSP on board....

Wonder how it will compete against the Ultralite and RME fireface 400...

I guess with the advent of the new excellent soundcards in this price range, this isn't garnering that much attention..interesting.
I probably wouldn't go for it either.
I am really waiting to see what the Fireface 400 is going to cost on the street. Looks really sweet.

I like the idea of the Fabrik channels but I get the idea you only get one of each (reverb and eq/compression) which is a shame.
in the British Empire prices are like this for the 'portable interfaces'
fireface 400 is reputed to cost around £600
konnekt 24d is listed as around £400
emu 1616m = £329
focusrite saffire = £329
although RME have a good reputation, so do TC electronic.
I'm not sure that the RME really has £200 or $400 difference?
Everyone dismisses the emu but it still seems to perform well and got a good review in sound-on-sound. No wordclock though.
I do quite like the TC, but wish it offered more Fabrik channels

Thanks Angstrom, konnekt 24d looks like about $US 700-800 , then.
The fireface 400 price I've seen mentioned is EUR 900.
How does either compare to the MOTU Traveler?

fireface 400 sounds like a badass unit...
konnekt 24d: here is US pre-purchase being advertised, $US 500

I have seen conflicting stuff about the fireface.....one sites says US$900, but many say "less than US$900", which could mean considerably less than, or US$899.
I thought I saw the konnekt 24D for $499 somewhere. I will go take a look....maybe sweetwater.
The fireface has everything.....everything....it really is the shit...the thing is.....you want to buy now, and not have to upgrade later..

i'm the guinea pig on this one. i picked one up for around 480. i get decent latency and the dsp sounds good but i can't use them in live... only monitoring. unless i'm missing something. i know it can be done in cubase but i don't have that on my pc. i couldn't get this card to work on my G4 powerbook but it seems pretty stable on my hp lappie. i'm giving it a thorough test tomorrow to see if it goes back to the land of unwanted fw interfaces. so far it pounces my m-audio 410 but there is a dropout here and there that will only probably be avoided with a driver update.
