Saving asks for stopping audio

Post by Chris J » Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:51 pm

When willing to save while running a track it says it will stop the audio.

I cannot offer any more input because your initial post is not a sentence or question and makes very little sense to me. Sorry, good luck!

I'll rephrase :

When I'm running Ableton Live 5.2, and a track is playing, and my deepest desire is to save while my wonderful track is playing, I get a message saying "this action will stop audio.
ok - no"
clicking "no", doesn't save and doesn't stop.
While clicking "OK" saves but stops the audio.

the ??? meant WTF ? and wasn't meant to make the preceding statement a question.

my take on it is that the problem is the creation of the "*** Sounds" folder and moving the sounds to that new folder.

Try this: when you first open a new set to begin working, immediately save it with a new name. Then I think you will not get the "stop audio" dialog with a normal save. You will still get it with save self-contained.

At least that's how it seems to work over here

Sh!t..... never had this problem until just after looking at your post!!!!!

Was looking for help with glitches with warpinmg, and stumbled across your post...... can't think what i have done differently today than yesterday, other than to use re pitch option in warp rather than complex, will change it back and see what it does!

Ahhhhhhhhhh h-ha-ha-ha-ha

Solved my problem, not sure whether yours is the same..... seems like a buggy bit of ableton.

Yesterday, I had been mixing a set, using complex warping. I changed it this morning, by selecting all and changing the warp mode for all tracks in arrangement. However, when I went to save it after I had fiddled with the EQ it said ' will stop audio'.

What I did was to select all change back to complex warping and just change each track manually to re-pitch........ its a pain, but its sorted now.

Let me know if this helps!

I see.
Is it worth saying it's happening while I'm not recording ?

yep gotch - doing it here too - funny I didnt notice it before

It doesnt do it with ctrl-S as I use that one like a nervous tick, but if you havent named it and have to save for the first time it does it - dont know other circumstances

I also noticed with the Betas that you would only get the "we cannot guarantee this will work with future versions" message if you did it from the menu but if you did ctrl-S it would forget about it
