find a loop with a snare you like
export it into an audio editor
cut the sample either side of the snare hit you're after so you only have the snare sound
save it in a folder called 'snares'
go back into live and create a midi track
drop an impulse on it
locate your folder called 'snares'
drag the snare sample on to slot 2 of impulse
set the track to arm
find the snare on your keyboard or input device 'd3'
set the tempo quite slow and switch on the metronome
hit record
tap 'd3' really quickly intime with the music
hit stop
unarm the track
hit play
voila - a nice and simple snare roll
