Saving a song flushes the undo history.

Post by Martyn » Sun Oct 26, 2003 1:39 pm

I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but it would be good if it didn't happen. I like to sometimes make a load of maybe dodgy edits, save as a new version, then undo what I did. You COULD save first but this requires a certain ammount of psychic ability sometimes.

I agree...I'd at least like to have 10 Undos or so....regardless if I saved or not.

Hi, yes Reason does, photoshop does, most in fact.

no, i think mbazzy is right. I just tried a test in photoshop 7 on a few jpg and psd documents i've worked on in the past---NO history whatsoever of anything I've done to the file in previous versions---maybe if while I was working on it and saved while still working on it, that might be possible. Save only when your sure you got it right, or if in doubt save the Live set under a different name---backups are great, and the actuall set doesn't take up hardly any memory.

I didn't mean after closing the prog completely, I use photoshop for a living and I can assure you that hitting save does not purge the history.

Agreed: it would be better if saving did not flush the undo history. Unfortunately, this would require quite a heavy redesign of some basic functionality.
