CPU SPIKE TEST 5.x- PC Laptops

hi all,

I'm using a Compaq R4000 laptop (see specs in sig.) quite a beast.

I have been experiencing the spikes since 5.0.1.

yesterday I optimized my laptop with these guidelines:

i turned off my LAN and Wireless services as well.

at your own risk, try this tweak and see if it improves the spikes.
so far so good for me. Live feels more stable now.

I JUST JINXED MYSELF.

i'm loading songs from 5.0.3 and they're still spiking.

I have to say, having tried a lot of the tweeks out there, they make some difference, but in my experience if you have a major issue, with spikes, clipping etc, they are unlikely to help.

That said, I suppose you don't know till you try it hey! I'm just pi***d off with spending hours delving into the registry or faffing about rebuilding and reloading things.
