Can't uninstall 5.0.3 ("could not open install.log"

Hi,

I've installed 5.2 - having previously been using 5.0.3 - but now I can't get Live 5.0.3's uninstaller to work. It brings up a warning message: "Could not open INSTALL.LOG" and quits.

This happens whether it's run from the start menu or the add/remove programs dialogue.

The file INSTALL.LOG is indeed present and correct in the same folder as the uninstaller program.

I am running Windows XP SP1. I have tried reinstalling 5.0.3 over itself but receive the same message when attempting to uninstall.

Any ideas please? Thank you

i don't know why that happens but it happens to me everytime i try to uninstall a version of live.

what i do is move the install.log out of the install folder and place it on the desktop (because it's easy to find, but you can move it anywhere you want). then i run the uninstaller, and it will try to find the install.log. you just tell it where it's at, and it will continue with the process like it should...

unless you're super tight for HD space, i'd recommend not removing any previous versions. you never know when you might encounter some trouble and want to use a previous version. they can all coexist happily together.
