Attn: Motu Ultralite or ProTools Owners

I'm about to pick up a Motu Ultralite within the next couple weeks and pretty excited about it :D (I haven't bought any gear in awhile.....been holdin the reigns back on the gear lust...).

Anyways, I wanted to know if its possible to have two different asio drivers installed on 1 pc??? If it is possible, then can both be used simultaneously or alternatively? I currently use a digi 001 as my sound card. The digidesign wave driver works fine with Ableton Live and Reason Rewired but only allows one application to use it at a time. What I really want to do is use Recycle without closing Live and Reason each time I need to chop something up. (which is such a pain in the a55!). Can't do that since the driver is locked to Live.

Will the Motu Ultralite handle this multi-app situation and be a solution itself???

All help, suggestions, knowledge greatly appreciated......

Thanks!!

no digidesign drivers are exclusive.

Good luck with MOTU's equipment. As long as it doesn't break down, you'll be OK. The last time my 828mkII was sent in for repair, I was without it for 2 months.

They each have a different ASIO driver, so you should be able to run two apps, but it isn't always stable to do so. On many ocassions, though, I run something via ASIO4ALL and my 002R at the same time.

Hmmm....maybe i'll try that. Not sure if it'll work with the 001 but I guess it's worth a shot.

Granted, I have ASIO4ALL locked to my internal sound card and not to the 002R.
