I think I might have to change mine to live clips too. I getting ready to work on a pretty intensive project based solely on live clips.

new personal hierarchy:

1) live clips

2) warp markers/ session

(though I originally chose warp markers, I doubt I would have the impetus to use them nearly as much without session view.)

I spend so much of my time being a fan that I almost forget that these people are geniuses.

Warping on the fly and session view and ease of use and drag and drop efx, VST's ect 2 screens only

Sorry - it's just off the hook

I get off work at 5pm I live 10 mintes away driving and I attend classes in the evening first class at 6

So, last night I got off work, traffick sucked (Mariners and the President of China was here) so it took me 20 minutes to get home - feed both my dogs and let them both out back

Sat down in front of my computer because I was Jonesing - laid out some loops that fit (I have like 49 million loops in the browser), drew in a bass line (which I bounced to audio because I'm using this demo VST) then made a quick lead which got bigger because i put the Dub Delay over it - loaded up my simpler monster kick and drew in my calssic 909 ride cymbal

it was a pumping beat - seriously

grabbed a Sprite and granola bar (my old lady likes that shit) and my note book

jumped back in my car (wait I petted my doggies goodbye)

and made it to school by 6 (actaully 6:05 I was late but no one cared)

got home from school and laid the track out before I relaxed and watched South Park (Red Hot Catholic Love) <--TiVo'd of course

once I laid the track out it took on a whole new direction and I worked on it before work this morning

You get where I'm going with this - I can live my life and make music easy with this program

Ableton Live and Tivo enable me to do other shit like actually make music and watch TV - sometimes at the same time

Oh and I played a little bit of SplinterCell Chaos Theory and had dinner with the Old Lady - I had Phad Thai which gave me the runs this morning - fucking Thai food it's so good but so bad

1. the best damn forum i've seen on the net (for fun and massive amounts of information) that actually helps "steer" the development o the software
2. it's not just software, it's an instrument.

HYoly jesus I just looked up LiveSets and discovered I didn't have to go open each "set", drag and drop the clips I wanted back into the browser, and do the same for each set I wanted materials from. Instead I could have, well, used Livesets.

That is my new favorite feature.

Whoa whoa whoa player - you're telling me all the unfinished "Livestes" are sitting somewhere on my hard other than the folder I have designated for the saved stuff - so I can go and grab this and that and that and this?

Wait if this is true the sun just got a little bit brighter and the sky just got a little bit bluer

shoot me a PM or whatever - wait, it's in the manual right?

tight

everyday it's like - I know everything, wait, no I don't

I feel like Cartman did when he transported himself back in time to 1776

he sang this song

"Look at me, I'm back in time, in 1776.
With gaslight corners, cobblestone streets, and humble houses made of bricks.
What a special magic time, and it's all alive for me
I'm so glad Stan and Kyle aren't here. I hate those guys, seriously.
Seriuosly hate those guys. Hate Stan and Kyle. "
