MacBook Pro and Ableton Nerd Bag
MacBook Pro and Ableton Nerd Bag
I know the MacBook Pro is a bit wider than the G4 PowerBooks. I was wondering if any of you have the Ableton Nerd Bag and a MacBook Pro? Does the MacBook Pro fit in it? I still have a Titanium PowerBook and it fits in there very snug. It would be a shame to have to buy a new bag when I upgrade next month. Thanks.

I resent that. Look, my laptop goes with me everywhere I go and protection is very important for a $2500 investment. Ive gone through countless bags in the 3.5+ years Ive gone portable. I really like the Nerd bag and it wasnt cheap. I just want to know if I have to budget for a new bag for summer tour. Geez! Thanks for helping out BTW.

I've had the Courier Laptop bag for years and I've got a Smart Alec with a Monolith on the way for my MacBook Pro. I love their stuff and it's very high quality.

Self-hating american.
Sorry...
I think these are the best bags. They are well tested by all the messengers I know, and the dimensions are posted. Not cheap neccessarily but greta looking and well, durable.

I don't know the dimensions of the nerd bag but maybe you can email Ableton. I'msure they will answer.
Sorry, Spiderman 3 is filming Downtown today and it took me forever to get home...

Re: MacBook Pro and Ableton Nerd Bag
i got both and they fit eachother tight into the laptop compartment. i mean real TIGHT! there is no space at all to slip your finger or even a sheet of paper.Nonz wrote:I know the MacBook Pro is a bit wider than the G4 PowerBooks. Let me throw in another two cents for anything by Tom Bihn, even if you want a courier style bag.
I own a smart alec w/ the monolith insert and would have to say that only way my PowerBook (I know, not a MacBook) would be better protected would be to always use this zeroHalliburton brief case I also own.
Tom Bihn's construction for his stuff is absolutely great, their customer service is impeccable, and the bags are extremely kewl looking.
I am a fan.

where is this ableton "nerd bag" ?
so far i haven't seen any nicer bags than the one i got. granted it isn't the best in protection and safety for my laptop but i fill it with folders and things i need and it ups the patting. you can do that or get a sleeve for it (prob the best option) then put it into the bag.
apple does offer other ones as well
