z3ta+ 1.4 crashes ableton upon minimize window.
now I know this sounds odd (doesn't everyone elses issues when u first read them) but i've had to revert back to z3ta+ 1.3 as it's stable.. shame as I'd like to be able to install v1.4 again to benefit from both the default_1.3 + default_1.4.fxb's
all other plugs and vsti's are fine (and I have got a fair few installed now)
i can replicate ableton crashing upon minimising the window with z3ta+1.4 loaded and active everytime.
anyone else had similar issues..
don't expect an wonder cure but anyone's thoughts would be much appreciated - thx in advance.
im on XP SP2 + Live 5.0.2 btw.. - if u need more info fire away!
cheers

Hi mate.... mine is working fine. When you say minimize i assume your talking about pressing the little Wrench Icon in the VST device bit.
Im still on SP1 (not sure if that would make a difference)
The only one thing ive found is that my mousewheel (and other simple shortcut tasks like copy and paste etc) stop working when the Z3ta panel is minimized, but easily overcome by minimizing live then maximizing, or, clicking to another running window then going back to live!
Hope you find this useful!
Comfy

hi comfy.
when i say minimize i meant if i had to minimize ableton, not merely the vsti within ableton.
I've actually noticed some pc keyboard useage become unavailable durin live work and the cure for that has been to simplu minimize live and restore that window again.
one NEW thing to report about this strange little thing though is that I did manage to do a few bouncedowns of some track parts that were using z3ta+ v 1.4 and I thought "ah sod it - let's just see IF I still have this minimize then crash error" so I did minimize live and restored (of course expecting to see the windows crash dialogue box) but I didn't so the problem that I said I could generate everytime was true up until this work yesterday...
so now im thinking perhaps if i was just to do a little render on a track part using z3ta+1.4 that would be enuff to prevent this minimising crash error..
who knows - but I will try it out again later..
watch this space..

Here it crashes too. It crashes not only on minimize but also when you put some other application's window over the Live's window and the most strange is that I don't use z3ta at all in the project - it happens even with a brand new empty set. The moment I uninstall z3ta or move it out from the vst plug-ins folder, the problem dissappears and returns after re-installing z3ta or returning it to the vst plug-ins folder.. This happens on both my machines - laptop and desktop. But to be honest in the beginning the problem was present only on the laptop. On the desktop it was not present. Then I decided to test again with the desktop and installed z3ta there again forgetting that I had it already installed so I installed it again in a new folder. At this moment Live started crashing even only after starting it up - no minimize was needed to crash it. Then I uninstalled z3ta and installed it again. Now the problem started to appear only on minimize or when some other window was above. These all make me think that in some way it may depend either on the folder where you install z3ta, or the problem may be in installing it for a second time unwantedly or just in install/reinstall process..
The problem is still present with Live 5.2. Well now it happened a little bit later - I successfully loaded a set and started playing with it while 2-3 minutes later suddenly Live simply dissappeared.. I restarted the computer and started Live again. Now I got it crashing still on starting Live. After I removed z3ta again, I've got Live working..

Hi,
we tried to figure out your problems mit z3ta+ v1.40, but we could not reproduce them.
It would be nice, if you can send me your "log.txt" file to [email protected]
You can find it in your users folder: /Application Data/Ableton/Live 5.2. This folder is normally invisible, so you may have to activate the "Show hidden files and folders"-option in your system preferences.
