live hardware buffer

Post by ludi » Wed May 29, 2002 3:16 pm

I am using Live on a powerbook g3/500. I am getting good performance except for the fact that I cannot set the hardware buffer as it suggests I can do in the manual. My interface is a digidesign mbox which, for now, can only use soundmanager. I am getting drop-outs at about 60% cpu load. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Ludi,

I assume you are the one with the MBox...
You're are right that with Live 1.5 it is not possible to set the buffer size for soundmanager.
With a bug fix update (probably released in the next time) you will get this.

I have no MBox here at the moment so i cannot say that it will fix your problem.

A general issue concerning USB devices is that sometimes there are problems by using 2 USB interfaces (maybe 1 x Audio and 1 x Midi) at the same time because the bandwith limitation of the USB Bus in the 1.1 specification.

regards,
Alex
