best portable I/O for gigs under $500?

Post by Heironymous » Fri Apr 28, 2006 5:56 am

I need an I/O for gigs, I would like to keep it under $500 or so and I will be running an intel mac mini or intel imac(haven't decided on that one yet).

M-audio audiophile FW? Focusrite Saffire? I like the Yamaha i88x as well but its a bit large.

What do you guys recommend? This will strictly be for gigs as I will get another I/O for home recording, although if I could get a unit to do both, then great! ;)

For a tad more go for the Motu Ultralite.

Echo Indigio IO. If you only need one in and one out, I can't recommend it highly enough. STABLE, tiny and high quality.

Yamaha is a steal in US but better wait for new TC.
