Which audio/midi interface should i buy?

Post by alichis » Fri Apr 28, 2006 12:52 pm

I have put a bit of research into which midi/audio interface i should buy to accompany Live. I require multiple Line ins, a mic input and something for a guitar. My budget is between 200-600 pounds. So far i've come up with the following shortlist and i'm open to other suggestions:

* Tascam FW1804 & FW1082
* MOTU, either the Motu Traveller, 828mkII or the Ultralite
* ECHO Layla 3G
* something else?

Please advise! I want to purchase something asap

I'l include my current kit list aswell...

Computer- AMD64 3.4Ghz, 1Gb RAM,
Software- Adobe Audition, FL Studio, Ableton Live, Cubase SX

Hardware
8 Channel Eurorack
mics- Audiotechnica AT4033a, Shure SM58
keys- Juno-106, SH-09, SH32, Edirol USB Midi Keyboard
FX- Zoom RFX 2000, Alesis 3630 compressor

plus other stuff like a Korg drum machine, acoustic instruments, bass guitar with a good chance of adding more equipment in the future.
