active monitors?

any advice on a set of active studio monitors around the 200-300 pounds mark?
They will mainly be used for dance music production

Event TR8s translate well, I think they might be just a bit more expensive than your price range, but do a good job.

I've had a pair of ESI nEAR 05s for a year now. Bi-amped, good bass. There is now a newer model, ESI PRO nEAR 05 Experience. SRP 199 pounds, got a good review in the May issue of Sound on Sound.

I've used Alesis Active monitors for years. They are tight and somewhat accurate, and if you learn them, you can make very good mixes.
