Recording Guitar Rig 2/Kontrol 2 automation in Live?

Post by hydraphonic » Sun Apr 30, 2006 2:52 am

Hi all,

I've searched around here and the NI site but cannot find a definitive answer for this problem.

I guess the ultimate would be to record wah movement at the same time as your guitar playing. The other thing is how to record wah movment without recording the audio (actually sometimes this might be preferable).

Any help appreciated.

in Kontakt, you have to assign a CC to the knob you'd like to automate. Once thats done, make sure you're looking at live's midi/effects chain for the channel that kontakt resides on. click the > looking button on Live's container for kontakt, and you'll see a list of automatable horizontal sliders expand out. Find the one with the number you assigned to the wah-wah, midi map it to your midi controller knob/fader of choice, then tweak away!!!

hope that helps man. Hit me up if you need more help with this.

That would work, but when I move the wah pedal on the Rig Kontrol, I dont see any sign of MIDI coming into Live (Yes the Rig Kontrol is enabled in the MIDI config).

Any other ideas? Thanks...
