Glitches in Live set.. any ideas?

I am now pretty happy with how live runs on my mac

I have DJ'd out about 6 times now and its ran pretty well since I changed all my files from mp3 to waves and also self contained the tracks.

The only problem I do get is that once or maybe twice a night when I drop a track in I get a very short pause in the sound.

Its like a little drop out of audio for a split second then it comes back again

can't figure it out

this grrrrr only happens to me when i played games or surfed internet and then start live, i guess ram is full and other things i dont know exacly how windows works, i simply restart windows, close all tasks like firewall and antivirus and no problem.
but the second thing is about plugins, im haven serious problems with karmafx synth.
this synth is one of the best, but its freeware and so not good coded for cpu usage and stuff.
so all i can do is record wav files with karma and put them in...
and it works, the set is full, 600 clips 10 tracks with 7 synths, each of them min 4 effects cpu at 70 % but no problem.
i think you schould check your plugins, dunno what you use.

here is a response from a techie friend of mine on the NI forums (DJ Hobbes), who found this solution for people having similar issues with audio glitchy doobies.

to combat unexplained audio glitches even while running on AC power(this is for PC)

go to system>hardware>device manager>battery

you should see "microsoft compliant ACPI battery control method".

DISABLE IT.

it will not affect battery performance OR charging, however you will no longer be able to view battery status in your system tray. this applies even when running on AC.

What's going on is that Windoze polls to check the battery charge intermittently, which puts a high load on your machine, causing audio dropouts and glitches.

This probably goes without saying, but make sure your internet/wifi stuff is disabled as well. it can cause similar problems...

Let me know how this works for you, as I am not at home, so i can't test it yet.
