Good mix. Though I'd be lying if I said I loved all the choones, but as a whole it's got a great vibe. Loved the vocal tracks towards the end.

Haven't been able to figure out the whole Beatport thing. In general I've found that browsing by genre is a pain because of all the subgenres. In essence I never find anything I enjoy there except for the Compost releases. :( I'll give it another shoot since everyone is bragging about how effing good it it though.

Thanks for sharing. :)

Deep/Funky/Tech/Electro/Acid... even a little Progressive. The quality of tracks out there blows me away, Beatport eats all my money.

Downloading that mix now.

I don't want to be the picky one here, but that mix sounds minimal to me. Not extreme minimal, mind you, but enough so where I wouldn't call it house any more. Are you guys just saying that dance music is going to an exciting place because things are getting minimal and glitchy? if so, i agree! I just saw dntel and john tejada last month and they were awesome!

to me this is so much more melodic and funky then the most glitchy minimal;
but most of all what I mean is that the james holden/nathan fake-gang and the minimal movement of the last years has made "deep" dance music more generally accepted then before. (which makes more room for me and my productions :D )

for me all electronic four to the flour with soul is house...

i'd rather house stay to its funky roots. it hasn't been funky for a long time, but it will find its niche.

Actually, what people claim to be "house" i usually stick in the "trance" or "techno" genre. House has been completely techno'd and trancicized. Personally I like techno, and some early early trance, but a very well-done funky/80's/disco house track always gets me.

EDIT: And yeah, I would call that mix minimal/glitchy too. Not really house.

I just wrote a paragraph explaining myself but I ended up just confusing myself even more.

I was into funky disco house for about 5 years, but since it has become more and more commercial (and I've got the feeling everything repeats each time a "new" song comes out) my love for this kinda disco-stuff has nearly gone in the last few years...
I sometimes think nearly every 70's-song must have been sampled now!
The freshness has gone...

Now, I am more into this deep and electronic thing.
And I would say:
This is definitely HOUSE!!!

Times have changed (but maybe disco-house will have a revival in a few years when there are new fresh ideas?!?)

(Sorry for my bad(?) english)
