Thanks for the input guys...

Well, went to the local gear pusher and got me some interfaces for testing...

Didnt go for the delta 1010 tho...to many ins/outs for my use...

But did get the M-audio audiophile 192 and the M-audio Delta 44... And come tuesday im picking up the RME hammerfall. And i wil definitly also check out the metric halo...

Anyway, testing the audiophile 192 right now... Sounds ok with a bit more body than my FW410. And with a track of battery and a track of amplitube im now able to get around 3 ms latency...wich is a good start... Couldnt get it below 10 ms w the FW410...(wich have actually worked flawlessly all the time)

And now i think i will un-wrap the delta 44...

Let me know what you other gear freaks have to say...

Cheers

my mbox is chill but I wish for something that had lower latency.

you wouldn't regret it man.....well, unless you're not keen on the undead chanting in the background while you jam...

I hope they make some windows drivers soon, I'd like to run some old & windows only vsts with one. (via bootcamp...)

Maybe they could make some windows drivers for people running windows on a mac. Standard hardware might make the task easier...?

I used a FW 410 for some time (didn't have all these problems like other people seem to have all the time but it used to much CPU power...) I got the Mackie Firewire option and have to say I love it! Not only that it runs with ±0 latency but what i like the most is that there is no driver to install, it just works!
I also recently got the Focusrite Saffire for travelling and that too is great! I started to notice the difference between any kind of reverb and good R E V E R B ....

whats wrong with 410s like?

I'm on a 410, no complaints , i thought latency was something you sorted out inside Live.

everything is wrong with 410s. the name. the shape. the air that surrounds it. the shadow it casts. the box it came in, and most importantly the hateful noise it causes your speakers to emit

Is that the SoundCard is it.... Been getting right on my tits lately that noise.

Edit - i thought it might've been the age of my amp of the wires or some shit

As stated above I too had an FW410... With no problems...

But latency has also something to do the way the drivers for the soundcard is written... No doubt about that...

I now have bought the Audiophile 192 (again m-audio lol) Its very cheap, IMHO extremely good sounding and with very low latency. And it has the basic I/O´s I need... No reason for me to pay for more than standard 4 I/O´s

Had the privilige to try diferent cards, incl the RME HDSP 9632... It sounds very good but at that price I really excpected more... Its 3 times the price of the 192, has slightly more latency and no ballanced I/O...ofcurse its more versatile, more expansion capabilities but thats something I really dont need...

So... Now im off to play some operator... and BTW... Anyone wanna buy an FW410 interface!? :D

wow, been a long time for this topic!

Can anyone suggest a decent Audio Interface for around £200 with low latency/ CPU usage and at least one mic in?

I've looked at the Edirol FA 66 (£219 - Turnkey), hmm.

:?:
