Application quits when opening sets

I've been running Live for months, but for some reason, now it won't let me open my sets.

Live opens fine. i can create new sets. record. etc. save. but i can't open anything!

it just crashes.

Its live 5.0.3 on mac OSX.

dear god, please help me. i can't do anything if i can't open my live sets. eek.

ok. . .hold on.

it just let me open a few of my sets now.

but there's still one that causes it to keep quiting.
insight?

I've been experiencing much the same problem [also w/ Live 5.0.3 on OSX]. Most sets open up OK but some crash Live every time i try to open them. I mailed Ableton tech support with a crash log and they came back with a few suggestions...

- use the latest Live 5.2 version
- use the latest Pluggo version
- deinstall the Hijack application - i have heard of several problems with this app.

Didn't have time yet to act on this advice but hoping to in next couple of days and will get back to this thread with results.

Updating to Live 5.2 seems to have sorted this problem for me. Live now opens all but one of the files i was having problems with.

have u tried loading without vst plugins?
move them out of the live search path temporarily, and live will think u have no vsts.

that usually works for me.

try to change the name of your vst plugins folder so he can't load vst's.

another try - disable your soundcard and try again.

I just posted this in the forum... its pretty much the same problem

Hey guys

Everything seems to be running much smoother since I started using wave files but there is one small problem
I am having with regards Ableton.

After I have saved a set as self contained or even just a set with some tracks in it....
I can open the file for say 4 or 5 times then suddenly it just stops working.

I click on the file and Ableton starts to open, the window opens and the screen
ableton screen goes white and the logo box for ableton stays open and
I can see the small progress bar going up then suddenly it locks.

The file then hangs and won't open at all. I leave it for ages and nothing.
I then have to turn the Apple G4 off by holding in the button as I can't get anything else to
work on the laptop.

When I re-boot and open the file again it says I had a problem do I want to open again.
If I open a blank ableton then its fine but if I open the saved file the same thing happens.

Any ideas guys?
