Filtering of MIDI CC Messages?

Post by wd8dky » Tue May 09, 2006 2:38 pm

Is it possible to filter out mod wheel messages from one of two VSTi's running on the same channel in Live?

As an example, I am trying to layer two VSTi's on the same channel (straight overlay). I have set this up no problem. Now, I want to be able to send pitch bend messages to one VSTi, but not the other. I've tried running them in parallel, as well as having the second VSTi connect to the output of the first, but either way, the mod wheel messages get through.

Thanks for any ideas,

Paul

Program the patch on the 2nd one to have pitch bend set to 0

I would, but I don't have any control over it (it's a pretty lame VSTi, but it does what I need with little overhead).

Thank you for your idea!

you might try a vst effect midi filter like one of these.

Sure...anytime. The other plugs there aren't too bad either.
