Opened a old live set and it sounds all out of sync??

I just opened a saved old Live set I made last summer and thought by clicking the file, the clips would play as normal..I'm hitting the scenes key
and it seems kicks & loops are all over the place.. are all out of sync..like they lost there loop points or something..
Only thing I did since was upgrade to Panther..
Any ideas??

the old set was most likely in 2.0.3 or 2.0.1. Sounds like you opened it in either 2.1.2 or 3.0, and have had a not-so-fun run-in with the new clip offset aka "pause" feature, which starts clips not form the beginning but from where the started in relation to other clips (for better explanations, see the many threads on this topic). Maybe try opening that set in 2.0.3 and see if its back to where you left it. Many Live users (myself included) hate this new "feature", and have stuck with 2.0.3 because of it. Ableton has promised to work on making it optional in the preferences menu, but no word on when.

I just tried opening it in 2.03 as well..no help!! it seems every clip almost is not starting on right offset and everything is a mess..out of sync and unusable..Seems I may have to redo this entire Live set again..and where it worked perfect before and have not touched it since....I just cannot believe this..Any other ideas..Would Panther have screwed this up by anychance..??

I do not know what happened but this time I opened it worked..Wow this is comforting to know the samples do not always load properly..

did it finally work in 2.0.3? I feel like a coulple of times where I've been using 2.1.2 or 3.0, then while the computer is still on, switch back to 2.0.3, the "pause" "feature" has somehow followed me into 2.0.3. I think either closing and re-opening 2.0.3 or a cool boot has gotten rid of this behaviour--is it possible that this was your scenario. Maybe for peace of mind's sake, try saving a copy of your set, then open the copy in 2.1.2 or 3. See if its all messed up again--is so, cLose out, open 2.0.3 , see if its all messed up. If so, close 2.0.3, start it again, and see if it still is messed up. If its still messed up after that, I guess try the cold boot. I hope that this is all it is, that damn "pause" feature

I do not have 3.0 yet.. I assume 2.1.1 was the best last version of V2??
I don't know what happened but all good now..

)
It all works fine in 2.1.1..Now the big scrary ??
if I upgrade to 3.0 will I regret it?

hard to say about 3.0--in terms of the offset it is the same as 2.1.2 in my experience. I myself (and others on this forum) think that 2.0.3 is the most stable of the Live 2.x versions(not to mention that it doesn't have the "pause" feature).

Guess I'll stay 2.03..Rather have stability over features.
Not saying 3.0 is not stable but need some feedback first.
