Giving up diet coke

Post by brightonalex » Thu May 11, 2006 2:39 pm

I thought I'd just update everyone on my efforts to give up diet coke.
I am on day 4 without it, and I miss it so much I could cry. Especially while the weather outside is hot.
I'm getting used to Green Tea - it's not too bad. I'm on 5 cups a day.

Postive health effects - I think I feel less tired during the day, and my concentration is better. I feel more motivated. This could be pychosomatic though.

Thank you for including me in your thoughts at this difficult time.

If green tea has caffiene then you're not doing yourself any favors.

Yeah any kind of 'diet' soda is foul tasting.

Ain't nothing like an ice cold coke, glass bottled, not the canned shit, and not made with that corn syrup crap.

diet coke is worst than regular coke due to the fact they replace the sugar with aspartame artificial sweetner which is 10x times sweeter than hence they have to use less..theres only one diet soda that I know of that doesn't use aspartame here in the state, and thats diet rite....just do some history on aspartame ou'll be surprise they even put that sh!t in soda..Green tea may have caffiene, but is way better for you..You can always get caffiene free tea if needs be...Oh yea and we can thank donald rumsfield for gettin aspartame pushed through to be put in our drinks, even though the FDA tried to keep it out due to all the testing and research..

well done brightonalex, battle through the addiction man, u can do it.
Please anyone that drinks diet sodas consider what is in them, do some research on aspartame the sweetener that replaces sugar, its really f*cking bad for you, worse than normal sugar. Donald rumsfeld got aspartame legalised through the FDA before any full independant research was done to prove it was safe! Some countries in south american are now making it illegal. it is a proper posion to the human body been proven to increase risk of diabetes and makes your bones more brittle, try and find the article about the guy who drank 4/6 litres of diet coke a day then his legs collapsed under his own weight. sorry rant over, please read up on it though and judge for yourself.

I know about aspartame, but using a link from a holistics site to back up anything doesn't exactly lend credence to any research
