probably a stupid question

i can't burn a cd w/o distortion & the audio cutting out.this never happened to me before so i'm kinda confused

hmmm, don't try to burn a cd from live, you "render to disk" as in harddrive, then use your cd burning software to burn these files to a music cd.

Are the reds peaking too hot on the master channel?

might not be the problem, but make sure the cds u are using are meant to handle the speed you are burning @. i had the same proble with a whole case of sony cds once. only worked correctly if i burned them at 8x speed.
