Recording Mono into LIVE via MBox

i am running live 3.0 on a 1Ghz powerbook running OSX Jaguar. I am a protools user, and therefore have an MBox setup, which i want to use as the audio interface for Live 3. i am able to select the mbox as both input and output under audio preferences. however, when i arm a track in Live for recording and try to select an MBox input, the field is greyed out and simply says "Digidesign 1/2", and will not let me select either input 1/L or 2/R independently. what this means is that everything i record is recorded as a stereo track, utilizing only one side of the stereo pair. very, very, very annoying. what really gets me is that when i check the audio input bus (via the little bus icon), it shows me two separate mono input signals!
PLEASE - does anybody out there know how i can record a simple mono track into live via the digidesign Mbox?

Go to bus ,unselect link and it should work!
