I'm very happy with it. It's still new, and a pretty innovative thing, so there are a few minor issues. They'll get sorted with software updates though I'm sure. And the problems really depends on what program you're using it with. It's the perfect thing possible with reason, I quite like it with Logic, although it can improve, and with ableton it's cool, but really needs a couple things changed like pick-up mode on the controller doesn't work yet, and that little problem with the display reverting back to the automap template when you switch templates.

All in all, I really like it, and I know it will get better because it's so close.

cheers,

good question. Haven't checked, but I will look into it, as that would be cool.

I don't see why not. You should be able to tweek it with the editor or in the templete menu of the SL.

By the way, I am 100% sure this thing rocks and is worth it. Problems are personality; characture, if you will. Problems can be fun. If they are not, then there are ways around the personality. Or not. Just depends on how your personality works with it, I guess.

Welcome to flavor country!!

Check the SL over once, make sure the drum pads all work and aren't mis-wired, check the touchpad to make sure the whole area works. Some early adopters found their SLs to funky.

On a side note, has it struck anyone alse as highly annoying how Novation keeps referring to the "HUGE LCD SCREENS"?? They're not THAT big.

Just got me a Remote SL37 after being a long time remote 25 user. so far Im impressed, but one thing I can't figure out is why is modulation wheel not not working in automap mode? I mean I can access FM7 and other plugins from the Ableton automap by clicking on the plugin in Ableton but modulation wheel is not mapped correctly (pitch bend works fine though). A pretty big omission! Any help would be appreciated.

Not all the controls are set to Automap, some are left open so you can make your own MIDI assignments.

I plan on making the un-automapped controls midi ch. 16, cc # 1 through whatever than assign them when I want to use them. I prefer having some open assignments as I like to be flexible.

Thanks for the reply. Looking at the Ableton automap in the template editor I see modulation IS mapped to something, but not the CC generally asociated with modulation, weird... The warning about modifying automapping templates is a bit worry as well. Not sure about how to go about this without messing things up.

You can always restore the factory defaults. It works. ;)
I did lots of testing and had to restore several times.
Only thing is that you need to re-upload your templates.

Here are my questions.....

how are the keys? are they nice and sensitive or ehhh....synth "feel" is fine....a nice feel for sensitivity (like drums, hint hint) is very important to me.

Is the pad/x-y cheesy, or is it solid? I'm sure it works, but for those of us who are used to the traditional "bounceback" pitch wheel ...... it could be a concern?

I will get either the 37 (how bizzare!!!!!!) or the 61 (which is overkill in most cases for me).....does anyone have anything other than the 25????

I have the 37 key, it's great, I used to have the Remote25 which I found was not quite enough keys, but the 37 hits the spot for me (I can always plug my keystaton pro 88 through the remote for when I need more). the only problems I am having so far is that I cannot get the mod wheel to work in automap mode for FM7 or Pr53, both in Ableton and SX3.

You can fix it, in edit template, I did but it was a month ago so dont remember exactly the steps to do it.
Cant wait to get 37 , 2 octaves is a bad joke so irritating that i stopped using SL till 37 get here.
