Auto_filter problems...

i just recently noticed that certain properties of the AutoFilter included with Live severely limit its functionality, IMO. In lowpass mode the filter still cuts everything above 12kHz even when the filter is fully "open". In highpass mode the filter cuts low frequency even when fully "open", unless you boost the Q to, say, 0.8, in which case you get a boost in the low frequency that throws off the whole mix. I really like the sound and feel of the AutoFilter, but i can't use it anymore. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to figure out that the AutoFilter was responsible for many of my mixing problems...

i also would like to say that Ableton Live is probably the most useful piece of software i've ever used. it has truly revolutionized the way i create music and approach audio. kudos to Ableton for an incredible addition to the world of music!
