I downloaded the demo for Reaktor and was blown away by the wonky noises. I've ordered a copy and while I'm waiting for it to arrive would appreciate any tips for creating loops for use in Live or Acid. I don't want to run Reaktor in Live - I think you can only do this as a VST effect and not a VSTi in any case - but rather create a loop and render it somehow. I would prefer to keep Live, or maybe Acid, as my main sequencer as I had a World of Paine getting to grips with Logic. I've lost my authorisation disc for Logic Silver and don't want to spend much money for a while now.
Can this be done? I've had a lot of fun starting with other people's loops and making them my own, but would now like to create my own sounds from scratch. I'm very much a novice when it comes to VSTi's, so assume I know next to nothing.
TIA

Reaktor loops for Live

In addition to effects processors, Reaktor Ensemble's that have built-in sequencers CAN be used in Live. In fact, that is one of the easiest ways to get loops into Live. Just insert Reaktor as a VST effect, load in the sequencer Ensemble, and start recording Reaktor's output. The loops should turn out very nicely.
If you absolutely don't want to work that way, Reaktor has a nice "Recorder box" feature that lets you record for a user-specified number of bars (based on Reaktor's internal clock).

failing that, go to www.plogue.com and download bidule beta 65001test and record into live - recording into live is one the best way, it gives you so much flexibility and is so easy

i like plogue, but not for reaktor. i don't see why i should plug a modular system with excellent sequencing possibilities (caterpillar, studio4) into another modular enviroment. if i want to record the reaktor output into live i do it via vst directly in live.
so what's the advantage using reaktor in plogue? convince me

the big advantage is that you can use a keyboard to play loops
and record them
also, you can use the bidule sequencer (or the stepchild sequencer that
IS sync'd to Live, both wrt tempo and start/stop) to drive a reaktor synth
or drumkit
unless you are willing to plug a reaktor step sequencer in every ensemble you want to play, using an external seq can be handy

playing with a keyboard is the main reason, but i also have reaktor session and can't add sequencers etc - does the full version of r4 give you the option of adding (decent) sequencers to it?
Hmm, maybe i do want it after all.......but plogue is useful for midi - but then if plogue can manage to take a midi input independent to live and route it into reaktor, you'd think NI could sort it out?! surely just doing that would be more straightforward than using bidule, rewired into live?
then they could always go rewire and make us all happy
