Arraange drag and move problems
Arraange drag and move problems
When haaving more than 20-25 tracks, it's almost impossible to move/copy or drag clips around in the arrangement view - sometimes it takes a minute or more to do the action i want. Oftem the file moves while it should be copied, or it doesn't do anything at all. Changing the zoom-factor, selecting and deselecting clips somtimes helps, but thats only sometimes... This is far away from being usable on daily work...
Is there any workaround to copy clips in the arrange view, like copieing clips to the clipboard aand pasting them? I have tried to find that in the manual, but couldn't find it.
Many thanks
Ray

Just for those that might read this thread in the future: nothing really helps. There are workarounds setting the latency higher, freezing and bouning all tracks to reduce the cpu load, but still the arrangement view is not really usable with 30+ tracks.

Yes, thats so sad
I have said this several times and was expecting at least dozens of people to come and complain, but it seems most of the people don't use more than 10-15 tracks. I did use about 30 midi tracks on the Atari ST when I started
So, I'd really like to know if Live6 will cure this completely of if I have to get and learn Sonar.
After using Cubase SX, which I don't like, it was a pleasure to find Live. I like it's layout, the fast workflow, the Session View and it's wonderful creative functions.
I would never have expected such drastic performance problems that make working impossible.

it has to be slightly more complicated than that, as i've pulled in 40 tracks as a test and at least initially everything was still OK. i know that people say it gets worse over time...
