Recommendations for sound card (laptop)

Help needed

For a bed room DJ for my new laptop (USB)

Not to much cash. Under £100

I recommended an echo indigo dj, but it depends on if you have a pcmcia slot on your lappie.

Very portable, and good sounding.
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.

M-Audio has some low-end USB interfaces that are ok, I've used the MobilPre (but it's only 16 bit).

I've got a firewire audiophile, been caning it for over 18 months, sounds good and is solid. Had a few issues with the headphone jack, but nothing too serious. Check out the Maya 44 USB, I think they are supposed to be fairly good, and they're cheap.

Would the Maya 44 USB, be ok for DJing with i.e using my headphones on cue the next track?

Yeah mate, it would be perfect. For cueing you just need two stereo outs, which the Maya has. :wink:
