Must admit the combination of Iceland/Cello/Electronic really pulled me in.

I like this track, reminds me of Junior Boys in parts, good stuff!

i miss some mid frequencies in the voice and the distorted clap sounds.
it is a very nice track, and it needs some more strength imho, make it harder :)

I quite like this actually.
I can't really tell what the mix is like through the awfullness of myspaces damn awful system. Listening here there is no separation whatsoever in the mix, nothing but brutal stereo (no width, just panning), no frequencies above about 4k, terrible pumping that isn't even common to left andright. I guess all of that is myspaces fault. I hate myspace.

If the mix really sounds like that I have a ton of things to say!

Regarding the comment about 'making it harder' , naaah, thats an artistic point of view. To me the balance of soft/hard nice/nasty is fine for me. It's set on 'pleasant' thematically sure - but that's fine, I like 'intimate' artists rather than 'mock tough' . It's more manly and brave to be more 'intimate' than to try and overpower the audience by putting everything on steroids. So that's my opinion!

BTW- does enkidu signify something in Iceland, or is this from the Sumerian myth?

Hey, thank you all for listening to it...yes this name is just from the sumerian myth. It would have been much cooler if I had find some old ancient icelandic name like "Skallagrímur" or something...hehe...

I know the mixing could be alot better but myspace makes it quite worse. I was really aware of it all the time that I could add so much more to the mixing and the song but that just kept me from doing it. I didn't want to make it to overproduced because I was afraid that would just not sound good.

One thing also. I had the cello in the original session but then it went up to 10 channels so I made a special ses for it. But then I got clumsy and said yes when ableton asked me if I wanted to delete the clips that weren't neccesary and I didn't realize those were the cello clips. So I had one cello mixdown which had to be the final mix for the cello.

Thanks for the comments

do you guys have anything on the internet I can check out?

:) best greetings

Hi. Yes this is my voice there also and thank you very much. I'm going to try to add some new songs soon and hopefully make a website were better quality mp3's will be.

kyle_terrizzi: Fáfnir is an icelandic boys name. It's pretty old also I think. Fáfnir was a dragon which garded some gold and his blood was poisoned which made it hard to steal from him. I'm not familiar with Bane. I haven't heard of a band calling themselves this but shure there might be one...

yeah, fafnir is the name of the dragon sigurd kills in the saga of the volsungs. this, he was named sigurd fafnirsbane, or sigurd bane of fafnir. i am really really really into icelandic epics, sagas, and nordic legends. if you want to learn about it, you should read the saga of the volsungs, the nibelunglied, or something like that.

i figured these books would be standard in icelandic schools. do you guys have to read things like egil's saga and what not.
