Loop Split?

"Click at position where you want clip to be split". As soon as I click on the waveform, the "Split Ctrl+E" is greyed out in edit menu. Before I click the waveform it is not. "Ctrl E" does nothing. I've tried clicking in all sorts of ways in waveform area. I'm in arranger and waveform appears below when I drag a loop to track or "double click" a loop when I pick one that is in preexisting arrangement.
"Delete" works fine. But obviously I'm doing somethin stupid. How, where do I select where I want loop to be split?

try doing it in the arranger view without the wavform showing, just the track without the wavform, I'm not infront of my shit right now but that might be it.

i'm not sure about it (at work now so i can't try) but i think the allowed split point in a loop depends on the quantisation that you choose. so if you choose 1 bar quantisation you can split a 2 bar loop into two 1 bar loops but you can't split a 1 bar loop into smaller fractions. todo that you must set quantisation to a smaller value.

make sure that youve clicked somewhere on the actual arranger set, so it goes white as if highlighted. then find the part of the clip you want to split, click and a thin flashing red line will appear on the clip and arranger grid. then select split or cntl/E and it will cut the clip.

wow i never knew about the split feature... when i want to break up a sample i expand the track it's on in the Arrange view and highlight the portion of the waveform i want to grab and just drag it to a new track. works every time
