How do I nudge a loop/clip 1 note at a time????

Post by Nue Method » Mon May 22, 2006 1:27 am

I used to be able to do this in nuendo by clicking on the + button on the controller. Is there a way to nudge the loops/clip forward or backward by a note, half note etc at a time in live 5.0.2??

Hey,

I've got the same question. I'm use to using Protools and you could do it in that. I was actually wondering if you could nudge by small note values, maybe even by samples. Does anyone know how to do it. Help us out.

I have no idead how to do that.... In Nuendo you could select a loop or section of music and move it incrimentally by 1/4 note, 1/8th note etc. using the forward or backward button on the main controller.. Does anyone know how to do this function using live???? I even have the ASK video tutorial and it is not covered at all..... A great tutorial by the way....

I think he just wants to select a clip and then nudge it back/forward in arrange, not adjust clip properties, something you can do in pretty much any daw, select object, nudge left/right.

Unfortunately not in Live.

Thanks Guys, that is a shame that you cannot perform this very important snd slightly basic task in Ableton 5.. You'd think that they would have this one covered as it is a feature on all the competitors DAW's out there now....Well hopefully V6 has it.....fingers crossed. That really puts the kibosh on the project I am trying to put together now.......

On a side-note what a pasting germany gave Costa Rica yesterday not withstanding those two very close to offside goals they conceded....Poland did nothing right against Ecuador

England looked weak against Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago made the swedes look terrible...And Argentina did just enough against Ivory Coast..

An alternative would be to use track delay...

You guys serious?

The nudge function in clip view will adjust this, how much this effects the clip is based on global time (and maybe clip time, but i'm not sure), so, if you've got a clip playing, set global time to 1/4, select the clip, and nudge it.
