Crossfader CPU hit

Post by hambone1 » Thu Jun 08, 2006 11:09 am

Does anyone else get a massive CPU rise when quickly crossfading? It doesn't even matter if audio is playing or not, The CPU meter jumps up to 50-70% from 2-3% just from moving the crossfader.

Or is it just me?

Hi Hambone,

I don't have that behaviour but maybe you do things differently:
Is the crossfader operated remotly? How many tracks are playing on A/B, and how many clips at once?

Kind regards,

It doesn't matter whether the crossfader is dragged with a mouse, or with a BCR knob, or a MIDI CC clip.

It also doesn't matter whether or not audio is even playing. But if I've got 4-6 complex-warped audio clips happily playing, crossfading is enough to take the CPU over the top.

I played around with this and didn't notice any real gain in my cpu meter when using the crossfader. weird.
