Korg micro and Kontrol 49 users keep the faith !
I'm too busy enjoying my Kontrol49 to be shocked or outraged.
I'm running two Live Scenes(fades, pans, sends, transport pads and some nav,) an Impulse Scene for beating the pads, one Operator Scene (step on the damper pedal and start twirling! Also think I might dedicate a second scene to Operator.) Then I've got a Scene for the B3 VST (faders are tonebars, Mod wheel runs the Leslie, a blast!) Another Scene for another soft synth and one for the Piano in KeyRig.
So far I've left the other four Scenes open for fast "Learn" assignment to Effects. I've saved a few to the Library too. Between saved Scenes and Sets, I'm not really seeing much downside here for my usage. So I have to push a few buttons sometimes, is that so wrong?
Bottom line was the keybed. I played all the controllers I could find locally. The Korg was the only one I could stand. If they stretched the bed, added aftertouch and a few more faders I'd buy it again.
Anybody using this yet?

I have been a pleased Kontrol49 user for about a year now. This controller is awesome.
I didnt know anything about native mode untill I read this topic.
If this really is as great as everyone says it is, it would be a great thing to add to the Live 6 wishlist.
Do any of you know if Ableton are working on this?

I was talking with a Guitar Center dude and he pointed out that Korg and M-audio are competing in the same market bracket. Since Ableton is in bed with m-Audio this may be why they snub Korg. Novation on the other hand tends to be in the next price bracket so they dont really compete for same consumer $$$.
Seems as good a theory as any to explain why Korg's tech has been ignored by Ableton for so long. Too bad because I love the Kontrol 49, but might wind up selling it to a Reason user and get the SL instead.
...Although I SHOULD threaten ableton instead and say I'll switch to another host. But then Id have to walk the walk

I love your post. M-audio is like the "Achilles' heel" of Ableton's reputation on this forum...blakflag wrote:I was talking with a Guitar Center dude and he pointed out that Korg and M-audio are competing in the same market bracket. I had enough of Novation SL , 5 months, never fixed the bugs, midi traffic jams, jumps Reason wouldnt work properly- no track names, no aftertouch and there is nothing better then Korg kontrols, Can use it as instrument rack without ever looking at Reason on notebook display, so it works rewired like a hardware workstaion.
Important points, Korg seems to listen to complains. I had the first series, sold it when I got the Novation. The new mK has better keys, they dont make so much noise and the pads feel better, have surprisingly good response, highly usable, unlike hard irresponsive of my first mK and Kontrol49.

only to say that i'm in love with my faderfoxes.
I received it a couple days ago. Still shocked. Nice support from Mathias, also. he solved all my doubts.
pure intuition and hands on control for pratically everything.
what a great purchase.
sorry but I couldn't help. Give the credit where credit is due.

The LEDs are only externally controllable via Korg Native Mode. So to make it happen in normal scene-mode you'd need to slave Live to the MK tempo.kmo wrote:Anyone know how to get the Korg's tempo LED to blink in sync with Live's tempo?
(I don't need to control Live's tempo with the knob, I just want the LED to blink in sync!)
But that's a nice idea - I'll look into it for LC Xmu...
LC Xmu Logic/Mackie Control emulation, LC Xview software LC/MC display,
