That's what Stefan Franke told me when met him by chance (well, he complimented me on my T Shirt) on a recent trip to Berlin (he also agreed with the 3rd quarter of 2006 release estimate).
Another coincidence was that I was staying on Shönehauser Allee - the same street as the Ableton offices.

So given that you're holding your breath and you appear to be wrong are you blue or red in the face right now?

personally I don't want them to rush, there was a bit of a fuss about Live 5. Much forum talk that they had perhaps rushed the release as there were a few bugs still affecting users which shouldn't have been there.
So, I don't really care about Live releases coming out on the same day every year, as if it always takes the same amount of time to create each release.
I would rather Ableton choose a release date by looking at their list of features and put all those in, then fix the bugs ... then when they think that is all done, announce a beta.
if that is march next year it doesn't really matter to me.
I have no assurance that the things I want are going to be in 6, so I could care less!
IF I knew there was a particular thing in there I wanted (such as metaclips) I might care a bit more. Otherwise it is merely getting frantic about nothing.

For me that's the main point too. But being on a Core Duo computer I'm very keen to get the promised multicore support in L6. In Sonar 5 (which I use for some work stuff) the multicore support makes a HUGE difference to performance

- can't wait too long for that in Live too!
