I just zeroed my HD on a new macbook pro, then installed live 5.2 with a new serial.
I installed some Vsts and AUs, but live isnt reading them. I already tryed to use the vst custom folder directed to the vst folder where my plugs are, but it doesnt allow me to do it, cause its "the system and already scanned folder".
any ideas will be much apreciated.
thnx

are the plugins universal binaries?
I bet that your vsts aren't UB versions, so they can't be used in ANY UB host, only through Roseta
I'm quite suprised how often Macbook buyers don't realise this.
You will have to wait for all your plugins to come out as UB
read about UB on the Live wiki in the bit called "Disadvantages of buying a new 'Intel' based Mac"

yeah this question gets asked allllllllllllllll the time. I mean this is a major reason why I haven't been dying to get a new puter. but I think the confusion comes in when people use live 5.0.3 and their vst's work and then they go to 5.2 and they don't work, because 5.0.3 was running under rosetta and 5.2 is universal.
and how freaking universal is this anyway? it has never seemed very universal to me.. more like..... another format you're gonna have to get till we change it again.

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Yes, I'm delighted the new MacBook Pro's don't have a pcmcia slot so I can't run my Multiface. What to do? New computer AND hardware? arrrghJohnisfaster wrote:..... another format you're gonna have to get till we change it again.
