Hard crash while using Live 5.0.2

Post by dwills138 » Thu Mar 16, 2006 11:12 pm

specs: g4 pwbk 1.25ghz 2gig ram. Live 5.0.2

I've experienced a hard, random crash about 5 times while using live 5.
this freaks me out to say the least.
It happened during the end of my set last week, luckily at the end.
i lose output and everything freezes. mouse will not move, nothing.

has anyone experienced this ?
not sure what to so. i defragmented my drive, optimized it etc. and it still happened. There seems to be no reason to it, and the session i'm using is not that robust.

any tips help.
is this a Live bug or is my machine wack. it only happens with Live running.
i'm leaning towards the side of just getting a new macbook and reformatting everything and selling this machine off.
freaky.

thanks !!

overheating ? a classic cause of freezing paradoxically

Check your RAM as well... I used to have the same problem with my PB, and it ended up being a 1GB RAM that was dodgy.

Hope this helps!

Is there a way to check your RAM besides clicking the apple and selecting About This Mac?

Just wondering because he said he has 2gigs.

Get a macbook it is a good idea.
It is a program that makes a hardware check, but i dont know wich one is.
Or remove one memory RAM, run live and see if you dont have any crash then you know what the problem is.
