midi help :(

Post by Mecca » Wed Jun 14, 2006 7:58 pm

Hi people, i'm new to the site :D

Just wondering if anyone can help me, I recently purchased a BCR 2000 to use alongside ableton and as I was setting it up to have the top buttons assigned to fire clips and the bottom ones to stop clips i must have made a hick-up somewhere cause when i press one button now around 5 or 6 different buttons light up :?

anyway i was wondering if anyone new how i could reset my controller to its factory settings? I have already tried holding down edit & exit together but to no joy, any help is greatly appreciated :D

You can also copy good presets over the bad ones. I'm at work, don't have the manual and haven't done it in a while but copying presets is easy. It's as simple as hitting copy going to the new preset and hitting save, or something like that.

The editing software it comes with doesn't always work. I use MIDI OX to upload presets. After sending a preset to the BCR from MIDI OX you have to send a 'save preset' command. There's a thread a few pages back where Machinete explained this to me.

I'll be home in 6 hours :( I can help you more then if you're still stuck.

All you have to do is program the controls to different CC's.
In programming mode, you just have to turn the "PAR" knob, and assign each control to a unique CC. That will fix your problem.

Otherwise, just study the manual some more. The BCR is really easy to program. Tedious, but easy.
