Well, I just left my girl to be ALONE. Not that she didn't want me to make music and be an actor, she was very supportive in every way, she worked alot though.
She wanted me to work like her, 10-7pm and be available (no computer in the evening) but then she'd come home at 8:30 eat and sleep... same on W-E.
SO I found myself living alone in a way, doing dishes, clean, shop and cook except I'd fight to go out to jam, she'd never come out, then give me shit for coming home late/waking her up...
Well our mutual respect did start to fly out the window.
After leading somekind of double life I left. After 4 years w/ her.
Now? Well I pay rent that I can't afford, I don't work much these days, no girl but I'm happy, got a nice place, I make music, go out alot and to bed at 4am drunk... priceless.
And yeah, it'a all about balance.

well i have a different perspective on all this coming from a guy that has been dumped recently by his girlfriend of 8 1/2 years. And yes the music was a very big part of it. I love my girlfriend, still do but we had none of the same interests. She would be looking to have early nights, and i would be wanting to go out hear some dj, or work or some tracks. I have been djing and producing for about 5 years but recently as stuff has started picking up for me (I am in a dance band called the japanese popstars check www.myspace.com/thejapanesepopstars) and i we where working pretty hard to get everything finished for a big show i got dumped. We always got on so well and never really fought, she does'nt admit that it was the music, but i know it had a big part to play. Straight after it happened i told her that i would give it all up, that i had got my priorities mixed up, but as time goes on(this happened about 6 weeks ago) i know that that would not have worked.

i would just say to anyone that is spending mad amounts of time in their studio, make sure that they have got their priorities in life right, people have to be able to do what they want to do, but the other side is that women have breasts

I would do with my kids (I really hope to get some one day) what my parents did with me: encouraging me doing sport/music whatever social activity rather than watch TV. My parents had a TV, it was not forbidden but as said they always told me you better go out and play with the other guys rather than flatten you out with TV. I know a lot of TVgrown kids of my generation (I'm 28) and I have to say I'm happy not being grown up in front of this apes box!
Lots of them have bad habits, eating too much in front of TV, see life as a commercial, not that much culture ( I think the less you know the less you are) oh well, the list could go on.
