Finally a good weekend!!!
Finally a good weekend sans Friday night drama - a friend got jumped by these 8 guys and there was much I could do. I kept trying to pull him out of the stomp pit and pull people off him but for every person I pulled off him another person just jumped in - they finally stopped when this dude jumped out of a cab who knew us and well...
so after all that - Roman and I got back in the studio, working on a proper techno jam I must say - good news from F1 Recordings and Via Musique which is always nice and I got back into playing Doom 3 ROE (Resurrection of Evil)
but here's the topper - read this
from CL: Nord Rack 1 $100
Selling a Nord Rack 1 synth. Works great, but has a broken button, (which needs repair) and a few knobs (which all still work). Sounds big and fat. These things go for 700 or 800, so this one is a steal.
Got a hold of the homie and meeting him tonight at 7 or so - ahhhhhhh
not sure if you know but I've been looking for one of these for a long time - at a $100 I can deal with a missing button or knob - it's what's underneath the hood that matters
oh and I aced my math test and registered for more Math at the Community College (don't laugh) but college level algebra is next for me - I lvoe that shit - still shooting for the technical degree so I can get my ass out of Seattle

Just be sure the guy trying to "meet" you isn't into meeting people and jumping them and rolling them out of a $100...djadonis206 wrote:Finally a good weekend sans Friday night drama - a friend got jumped by these 8 guys and there was much I could do. Just contact Clavia, a friend's Nord keyboard had the power supply go out, took it to a guy over in Bezerkely. The turnaround was long but you won't need to send the whole thing in.djadonis206 wrote:Ah - since it's missing knobs, where do you think I could find some knobs to fit it
Some guys have all the luck, man, I'd pay $110 for that thing.
Had the first bonfire of the year Sat night, nothing like riding the bus home across town at 5am wasted goofy ass drunk while others are going into work. Nice sunrise, weather's been unfuckingbelievable.

Frisco's dope
Do you guys have those old ass buses still? I haven't been down there since Funky Tekno Tribe Tribal Massive '99 - but I was a regular in Frisco before that cause I thought the city was dope
I called Clavia's distributor in Florida so I'll see about getting a response - it'll be sweet when I get 'em
You guys think that's cool - check this out
I have this Macintosh Monitor - it's not the newest ones but it's pretty fancy and flat - like 19"
So I got it from this guy on CL who had recent;y bought a G5 and the connector didn't fit the new DVI things or whatever - PLUS he said he couldn't get it to work on his old computer so he was giving the thing away for free
Well I swooped it right (over a year ago) - he was like if you can fix it you'll be stoked
plus I need an adapter a DVI VGA thing or whatever - anywayz
It sat on my floor for over a year collecting dust and what not because i thougth it didn't work
So I took it to the Mac store Genius bar to see if it worked and it works fine - errr OK - I just need the Adapter (Machine's where you at

I hope I can get some dirty ass bass and sick funky (slightly cheesy) lead lines out of it
it's on - call me on Friday

The F Market line still runs old street cars (not busses) from all over the world, pretty cool. The busses are insane. Sunday AM there was a guy upfront tweaking with a bleeding leg and a handful of white pills in his right hand. He was rambling about almost being mugged then he'd rant about jumping someone. Dunno, he had two bags and only treated one like his own, he'd only go into one, the other he kept close. Meh, it kept me entertained watching him for a while. Then there's the 22 line, weird, weird shit. I'd rather ride my bike than go back to the busses.djadonis206 wrote:Do you guys have those old ass buses still?

Lucked muthfawking out - $80 for a Nord Lead
Now 3 of the buttons don't work and it's missing 10 knobs - it's super dirty and has a unicorn sticker on the front
I told the guy I'd get rid of the thing to if it was sitting in my room - ugly doesn't even describe it
but I plugged it up and guess what - IT'S FUCKING CHUNKY!!! It's off the hook - I'm ordering the knobs today through the distributor
I've been scrapping the sticker off and I'm told a sodering (sp?) iron can fix the button problem
so it is a cosmetic project I'm happy to embark on this summer - I like that kind of stuff - I guess I could have a "pretty" Nord Lead this time next week if I put in some work - gives me something to do before school starts next tuesday
FYI - Hardware Sounds better than software

So basically I'll be monitoring through a little mixer - ableton and the Nord Lead
Is there latency from the midi being sent from the computer to the nord? Can this be adjusted so audio in Ableton and the nord play in sync (or as close to sync as possible) thru a outboard mixer?
Sorry for all the stupid questions but this is all new to me and I want to make it work right
thanks
