Why doesn't everyone just get on and make the best of what they've got? 6 will come when it comes.
maybe because there are some obvious features that are still missing in Live5?
maybe because we all expect better performance?
maybe because some of us are excited about what new stuff ableton will come up with...
if you don't like dreaming, that's you're problem man. but please let other people do (and by the way, i haven't stopped working on Live5 because 6 was supposed to be announced earlier this month).
now, as for other ppl complaining about OT threads, if you're tired about *all* the 6 talk, just skip the threads mentionng Live6 in the title.
thanks.

and people that make crappy music with 5, will make crap with 6 too.
and what about people making quality music?
Thanks French,
I say what he says.

i suppose they are happy with what they have. why should they crave for 6 if 5 does the job.
i'm sorry if i was too rude. i just don't like the attitude of "5 doesn't work - i need more features to make my music sparkle", as if 6 will be the miracle that turns anyone into a great musician.
I DIDNT SAY LIVE 5 DOESNT WORK. IM INTERESTED IN AN UPGRADE WHICH WILL ADDRESS A FEW NIGGLES

But I'd rather spend my time working with and learning how to make the best of what I've got than moaning about what I haven't...
I have learned five and have made the best of it. Guess what conclusion I have come to? LIVE CAN BE IMPROVED
Perhaps if you had an open mind and some imagination

(although new features are always welcome)
Live 6 isnt a new version its called an upgrade and I think its been over a year now since Live 5 was released. I think Ableton are taking a bit more care with the six release and thats good. A release around the end of September may be what they have in mind?

You think IM asking for live 6 to help my crappy music

i don't know about your music, calm down, don't take it personal. i'm talking about "people that..."
but i do know you are struggling desperately with live 5.
at least that's what you have said (first post of the thread).

struggling with Lives abysmal cpu load forcing me to constantly freeze and unfreeze tracks, if I dont the system comes to a near halt very quickly. If you are any good and have experience at writing music you would know that ANYTHING that spoils the moment is a major distraction to the creative flow. Live distracts me a lot
Nothing the people in here say would upset me. I feel its polite to respond.

I have been using live five, for a few months now.
I love the sequncer, the work flow.
I use battery as my sampler.
maybe 3 - 8 instances of battery 1.5.
everything is fine, untill I try to turn on a reverb unit. I get mad, pops and clicks. cpu load @ 50%. this makes no sense.
I willprobably go back to digital performer, until i get a mac-intel.
too bad. I love live
I'm on a dual 1.33 gh g4
Peace & Love, Lord Toranaga

alright - guess we have a different vision on things. i'm happy that live has a freeze function and i think it's a fast and convenient way to free up cpu.
f.e. protools LE users are still waiting for that (and i think that PT7 is more CPU hungry than live).
hope live 6 will do it for you. otherwise you can work with a 4track tape recorder. no CPU limits. great workflow.
and if you think this thread is too long, please start a new one about this.

Your a joke stick to playing birthday parties and weddings.
Do you mean "you're" a joke? I hope your music's better than your literacy!
I will definiteiy stick to private and corporate work - weddings especially. £1,000+ for 4 hours work, and 17 booked in the next three months.
And perhaps if I had "an open mind and some imagination", I could discover how to use Live 5 to sequence and control live surround sound, 19 lights, 2 remote pan/tilt/zoom cameras, live percussion, and VJ to two 8' x 6' screens at the same time.
Oh, wait... I'm already doing that...
