I went to an all software solution for a while. The convenience is outstanding...sample accurate timing, setups return at the click of button, etc. My rationale was that software on the PC is the same as software in a hardware box, like my old JP8000...why need the hardware at all...

Then after a year or two, I bought a JP8080. I dunno what it is about the box, maybe the converters, maybe the dirty analog outputs...but the sound was phatter and warmer. Same with the Virus C - I've heard folks say it's better than the Virus Powercore...and I'm sure Tarekith will disagree, but some other folks use their TI with analog outputs instead of the digital USB. Like I said in another post - the timing issues are a pain in the ass, and the patch management is another step in the workflow, but for me, it's all worth it. I still use Operator and Sytrus and Zerovector (amazing!), and of course Impulse for drum samples, but for synths, nowadays, I go to hardware first.

Just me - use the best workflow for you - I'm not gonna debate if for you software is as good or better than hardware - I used to think so, and now I don't. No big deal if you think otherwise :)

Yeah, it's no debate for me about the hardware vs software debate

I can get by with software - have been all year and I can't complain :)

let there be no mistake it's all good - I just want to monitor what I'm listening and playing back (midi wise) with as little latency as possible - I'm going to record the results down to audio anywayz so...I can adjust the delay it here and there when I set my markers

peace out

that is pretty sick, the three of them are stellar. that bassists sweater is a fashion crime though, he should have to give me his fodera bass for wearing that.

dzang! at 2:52 she goes monkey balls!

She gives Tina Turner a run for her money in the hair dept. Kind of like Robert Smith on hair growth hormones. That guys sweater is the bomb too. Crazy bass fingers.

So in order to play the Nord with a midi track with little delay I just have to set the Track Delay amount - for that midi track

does track delay work for audio tracks so while I'm monitoring back in through a audio track it plays in somewhat sync -

again, I can live with it a little out of sync because I crop everything

I'm searching and reading and reading and searching -

track delay - nice

That vid is crazy, never seen anyone rock such a cheesy patch before.

Hey that wasn't Roman getting beat on was it? He needs those fingers in working order for layin down some more sweet keys.

Did you get a pic of that Nord before you took the sticker off? Hilarious.

Looks like Yoko Ono went back in time, got really angry, went to Dallas to get really LARGE hair, then came back in the curent state, and got a Nord, and then decide to take all her agressions against Paul McCartney out on it.

Also, I'm not sure if you guys noticed that inside the piano, there's a little laptop that's basically running the Nord via midi. Ain't no way the byotch is playing that in real time...

nice score adonis, congrats!
funny to see that vid...it was all over a bass forum i belong to a month or so ago.
killing key performance, can't say i like the bass playing, although the guy is obviously great...but out of his league next to the keys, phrasing-wise.
anyway, can't wait to see the before/after pics, i've been wanting to get an
analogue module to run via midi clips with live, the nord rack being the first pick...
...me green with envy....

The nord lead 1 rack blows up pretty tough - my buddy is letting me borrow his Behringer Eurorack mixer which will be nice.

I had something to tell you, shit...I forgot oh well.

Oh last night we're chilling and my homie came through with some purple - and we checked out a bunch of people's music on myspace

Right now Preach is the man - he's playing Vancouver on Satruday and I'm going - all his jams are so huge (The heat I believe is the word the kids are using these days)

Mike Balance is blowing up kind of tough right now so is Jon Pegnato - his remix of Mike and Noah's "Get Ready" is fucking banging

Chris Cowie's got a couple jams up as well -

it's like all the top dogs are dropping super jams right now and by this time next spring everyone will be ripe for the WMC -

oh oh oh and the Eddie Halliwell guy is nuts - he's pretty sick!!!

Dance music is crackign right now fuck what ya heard - I got super excited to write jams when I got home but ended up playing Doom 3, eating dinner and falling asleep on the couch - :)

the heat
